What About My Foot Pain?

If you are here, it means you are probably experiencing some kind of foot pain. If so, you are not alone; according to Health in Aging, up to 87% of people experience some kind of foot pain in their life. With over 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments and 19 muscles, the human foot is vastly complex and everyday stress can often be crippling, and may lead to a myriad of issues including bursitis, heel pain, plantar fasciitis, bunions and more. While most people are quick to take a self-diagnosis and care approach, seeing a licensed professional may be a step in the right direction, especially if the pain is interfering with daily activities or overall performance.

In light of all this, ProRehab offers multiple solutions to address foot pain. After a quick evaluation, one of our specialists will work with you on a plan to alleviate the pain, restore function, and reduce the risk of future injuries. Depending on the severity of your condition, our evaluation can help not only alleviate your pain and restore function, but also reduce the risk of future injuries in the long-run using a combination of any of the following:

  • Manual Physical Therapy
  • Therapeutic Exercise
  • Stretching
  • Neuromuscular Re-Education
  • Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization

Another option is orthotics, or prescription footwear. ProRehab offers an onsite Pedorthotics laboratory that allows for customizable shoes, and with a prescription, can fabricate or modify shoes and foot orthosis. ProRehab even works with local shoe merchants in guiding the patient in appropriate shoe wear.

“Pain reduction with orthotic support and unloading of painful foot/ankle areas allow for exercise and manual therapy to impact the restoration of function.” – ProRehab CEO, Pat Wempe, DPT, SCS.

Typically, plans that address foot pain include both physical therapy and orthotics. ProRehab looks at the whole system, everything from how you work or train (routines, volume of time on the feet), where you train or work (surfaces and contours), to what gear you train in/work in (how old are you shoes, what style specific for your foot structure).

With over 20 years of teaching Podiatric Medicine, and 30 years of experience fitting custom orthotics and shoes/boots/cleats, ProRehab has a wealth of expertise to help you get back on track.
